What to expect.

Below you’ll find a timeline of what you can expect to occur leading up to conversion, and a few action items/reminders along the way. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

JANUARY 23-24

You’ll receive a packet that includes a list of FAQs, along with a booklet containing important information about how your Citizens Bank & Trust account(s) will convert to Southern Bank accounts. For your convenience, you can also view that information here:

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10

You can expect to receive your new debit card and activation instructions as soon as February 10. If you have not received your debit card by February 27, please visit your local branch to have one printed for you.

Call 1 (800) 992-3808 to activate your new debit card and set a PIN number.


CREDIT CARDS: Account information and benefits will not change, and you may continue to use your Citizens Bank & Trust branded credit card. In the future, we will issue you a Southern Bank branded credit card.

BEFORE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17

Personal & Business Bill Pay: Download/print your bill pay history prior to February 17.

Payees, pending payments, and recurring payments will transfer. Bill pay history WILL NOT.


FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17

Bill pay will be disabled at 4:00pm, and will be inaccessible until Monday, February 27.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22

Quicken/QuickBooks Users: Review conversion instructions prior to this date. Click here.

BEFORE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24

Download/print any historical transactions or eStatements.

Citizens Bank & Trust online banking will go into read-only mode on Friday, February 24. Make sure you download or print any important items for reference prior to that day.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24

Citizens Bank & Trust online banking will be put into read-only mode.

The official conversion will occur at close of business.

Begin using your new Southern Bank debit card after 8pm.

AFTER FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24

Update debit card automatic payments

If you use your debit card to make automatic bill payments, be sure to provide the vendor with your new Southern Bank debit card number to continue making payments after Monday, February 27.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 27

All branches will open as Southern Bank.

Citizens Bank & Trust online banking will be disabled at 8am.

AFTER MONDAY, FEBRUARY 27

Change your direct deposits or automatic payments

Make sure to request changes to the originator of the direct deposit or ACH after conversion. If you set up anything new in the mean time, use the new routing number - 281573259.

In most instances, your account number will remain the same; if it changes, you’ll be notified by a Personal Banker from your local branch.

We use text messaging - called Southern Messenger - to stay in touch with you about your accounts, holiday hours, special offers, general financial know-hows, and Southern Bank news. After conversion, you will start to receive text messages from (573) 345-5201 with a link to your personalized feed.

Add (573) 345-5291 as Southern Messenger in your phone contacts.
